Call Number Ranges

The library holds print foreign legal materials for various countries, generally on Level 4 in the call number ranges: K - KVX. Consult the library Discovery Service/catalog (see box below) to determine the call number range for the individual country you are interested in, or consult a law librarian for assistance.

Other Primary Sources

Other primary legal materials, such as regulations and administrative decisions, may be difficult to locate. Consult the Foreign Law Guide (UM Law only) to determine whether a country publishes an "Official Gazette", which may reprint such materials. You should also consult the country's government Web site for materials in certain topic areas. Alternatively, they may be reprinted in secondary sources such as legal periodicals (see the "Secondary Sources" tab in this Guide.)

Another source that may be useful is the Hein Foreign & International Law Resources Database - International Yearbooks and Periodicals (UM Law only).
